ImageThe drama department at Concord Carlisle High School (CCHS) has been accepted to perform at the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland summer 2008. Our goal is to leave no student behind because of funds.

Concord is a small town where most extracurricular activities from elementary school to high school center around team sports. Parents and educators have been working very hard to change this. We have hired qualified professionals and donated many parent hours to create growing middle school and high school drama programs. Many children, who have spend afternoons alone or in less constructive activities are joining our programs, our plan is working and our community is taking notice. Shows have increased from one per year to three, the elderly in town are attending and more families are choosing to attend the shows considering them local entertainment. Drama has room for the talented as well as the students who may have social issues, physical limitations or learning disabilities. The opportunity to go will further our mission and grow our program.

The show going to the festival is “Animal Crackers”, with a cast and crew of 30 students. The trip will cost $4,800.00 per student and will be met through fundraising, savings, home equity loans. Some students will be earning the funds with summer and after school jobs or combination of all of the above and for most this will just not be enough. We compete with many other wonderful programs for fundraising dollars. We hope you can help us.
